We’ve been watching them for weeks with great anticipation, waiting for their chinese lantern looking paper husks to fill up and tear open, signaling that it’s time. They crawl along the ground like spidery monsters, they cannot be controlled, or stopped. We guess that we have thousands of fruit, and the bees are still having a hay day with their yellow flowers.
In farming, it seems there is always something new to rejoice in, a warm egg to start the day, the first rainstorm in 6 plus months, new sprouts, first fruits. This week we rejoice in tomatillos. Each Thursday Chris allows me the pleasure of harvesting what’s new. This week I have my work cut out for me. But don’t you worry- I’ll enjoy every minute, for each tomatillo is another gift to be received.
