a winter walk to the quarry

IMG_5551 IMG_5556 IMG_5591IMG_5586 IMG_5583   We returned from a week spent with family in frigid Wausau, Wisconsin Sunday night.  I am the oldest of five children so a holiday together all nine of us with the son-in-laws, is not something to be taken for granted anymore.  We had a beautiful week!  My mom has a way of making holidays magical, even for those of us in our twenties.  We drank coffee out of special Christmas mugs, frosted cookies, completed a 2000-piece puzzle, ate like kings, and played in freshly fallen snow on several winter walks like this one to the quarry.  And best of all, I learned how to knit (a necessary skill if sheep are in our future)!  I think we all agreed that this was one of our favorite visits yet.
